​Lana Boodhoo - Consultant Cardiologist in Trinidad and Tobago

A medical graduate from the University of the West Indies, Lana Boodhoo is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist (EP) based in St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. She also holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of London, for her research into atrial fibrillation, the commonest heart rhythm abnormality. Lana Boodhoo specialized in cardiology, with sub specialization in cardiac electrophysiology, focusing on heart rhythm disorders, from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the largest stand-alone heart and chest hospital in the United Kingdom.

Lana Boodhoo leverages her education, training, and extensive experience to provide clinical care to patients in Trinidad and Tobago and visiting patients from the Caribbean. Over the years, she has endeavored to contribute towards developing heart rhythm management locally and regionally with several initiatives. The projects so far Lana Boodhoo has established include the development of a rapid Diagnostic center for Syncope at her private practice, setting up the region’s first Heart Rhythm Clinic at San Fernando Hospital in 2012, a quality pacemaker implant service at San Fernando Teaching Hospital, and St Augustine private hospitals in the same year. She has presented research papers locally and regionally.
